DF 2014 Food Porn

I've waxed poetic about the beauty of D.F. and so this post is all about chilango food we experienced. Let's get to it!

Every day should start with a good breakfast, and a place called La Sopa Alegre was just around the block. Gotta have those eggs, especially if it's in chilaquiles.

One of the best meals we had was at Jaleo, a Spanish restaurant in the Polanco neighborhood. Spanish tapas, all around, including excellent octopus and boquerones.

Of course we had dessert too. In Downtown DF, there's a spot called Azul Historico which featured a visiting chef. Unfortunately, I didn't jot down any details. I know one of these is tres leches, and the other is something else...

I'll finish things off with Tacos Don Guero, a 24-hour taco stand that we hit up on the way home on more than one occasion. Their two specialties were tacos al pastor as well as tacos de lengua. You can even get the tacos al pastor covered in cheese if you like.

We only spent a few days in Mexico City and of course we barely scratched the surface of the food scene here.
